Antonio Giménez-Rico’s documentary Vestida de Azul (1983), explores the lives and loves of a group of six transgender women living in Madrid in the years following Spain's transition to democracy. It is a portrait of a culture that finally emerges from the shadows after being hidden for too long. The camera follows the daily lives of Eva, Nacha, Loren, Josette, Reneé, and Tamara, bringing their personal stories to the surface.
