2022 was the year of the apotheosis of trans cinema, both in terms of direction and leading subjects, and the cherry on top could only be Divergenti, the festival that shines in the trans constellation. Productions, direction, writing, and performances that fill the cosmic void of narrative redemption of an experience and all its human, social, and cultural variables.

The rejection of the Zan government bill and the violent attack on gender identity (considered as exclusive and binary), have hurt us. DIVERGENTI 2021 puts aside the images and the colors that have always distinguished its poster: it is now published in black.

The theme of the tenth edition concerns trans migration, understood as displacement and the search for less hostile places, an exodus necessary to escape hunger, wars and above all transphobic prejudice.

Activism: the battles, the fights, the resilience and the riots fought for trans people’s rights and dignity.

Crossings…toward happiness, dreams beyond the scalpel, stories and love.
